Edit: Nevermind, I should have paid more attention. This particular kit does include the piping. Did notice that the kit supposedly fits all 92-96. Do the 3VZ-FE (92-93) and 1MZ-FE(94-96) have similar intake plenums to allow this to work on both, or is this some sort of universal kit?

I noticed this disclaimer on the site:

"Please Note: Most RS Akimoto intakes DO NOT come with piping. If you are looking for a high performance air intake system we highly recommend that you purchase an AEM or Injen Air Intake if one is avalable for your car."

What do you get for $224, then? A cone filter and an aluminum heatshield box?

hey i was just lookin at those the other day. those're nice intakes, and the piping should come with it. i'm pretty sure they send the polished pipe. if they don't, then it's false advertising, b/c it should say it's a full cold air intake system. the usual price from RS ie like $298 or somethin. i was thinkin bout that, but the O2 sensor wouldn't really fit anywhere, so decided against it.

No they are not similar. 3VZ and 1MZ uses 2 different type of Mass Air Flow sensors. 3VZ using a flapper style, 1MZ using a probe/funnel/cone style.

The only Injen intake system available for the 1MZ-FE is for 97-01 1MZ-FE non VVT-i Camry/Solara/ES300/Avalon only.

I have a 95 and I ordered an intake from I beleive it was street beat customs. Was around $60 I think, only thing it didn't have the tubing, I just custom made one out of the original and attahed a breather instead because the openings where way too different in sizes. I like it. Loud when you want it to be. More pick up and low-end torque. It did come with the mounting kit.

I just couldn't see paying that much money and having the kit not include a pipe. I am going to call this week and see if it includes it. Why is this car so difficult sometimes.

The only reason it's difficult is mainly because most "kids" cant get a Lexus so they don't make stuff for it like they do civic's and others. But thay did find out the richer ones like the IS300 and started marketing in that deparment as well.

Actually short ram intakes kill the low end torque of any N/A 1MZ-FE.
