Need Procedure for R&R Rear EM Struts '02 ES
I saw a sticky post (DIY procedures) on rear strut assembly install for the '97 - '01 ES.
I have an '02 with electronic shocks. Does anyone know whether the procedure is the same? If not, does anyone have a similar DIY procedure (photo enhanced is best)?
In addition to the struts, are there any other parts (bushings, rubber parts, etc.) that should typically be replaced during this job? I'm trying to get a parts list together before I start taking things apart.

I do not know about the elect. option, but I am getting ready to do the same on an 02. I am replacing:
cartridges
boots
sway bar bushings
but NOT mounts.
Reason: there is no problem w/my existing mounts, and oem mounts are pricey, and aftermarket ones generall fail or not fully compatible. Many horror stories abound of changing mounts and having more issues than before. if you are having issues, or disassemble and find bad mounts, then the wisdom appears to be go w/oem mounts.

Procedure should be the same for replacing struts on the 3ES and 4ES.
To remove the back seat, pull up on the bottom of the seat cushion. Unbolt the seat back and pull it up and then away from the rear deck to gain access to the top of the struts. Once the two big bolts at the knuckle is removed along with the sway bar links, the strut assembly should drop right out.
