i have a 05 330 and i was starting to have problems with key turning had it towed to a shop and a locksmith spray pb blaster in cylinder and it started working so that worked for a while if it started getting tight i would spray it now it wont turn again and it seems that the key wont go in far enough is it the key or cylinder please help

 

If the key wouldn't go in, that means the key cylinder is no good or something is jammed inside.

 

It could the key. If the key is not properly cut it will be difficult or impossible to insert it. And, of course, it will not turn. Do you only have one key?

 

thanks for replying ...new to cl but anyway yes only one key im afraid to key a key from dealer and it be the cylinder found this on rock auto do you think this will this be sure fix?

I'd have a second key cut from the VIN before I replaced the cylinder. If you replace the cylinder you'll loose that option for life.

 

If the key works properly in the doors, than its your key cylinder. If not, than its probably your key.

Although by now, you key cylinder could be damaged as well.
