Knock Sensor p0330 appears even after replacement of the sensor
Hello Everyone ,
Could you please help me. I have 2001 es300
I had code p0330 Kncock Sensor Bank 2 error so me and my dad decided to replace it ourselves. So we bought 2 sensors bank 1 and bank 2 wiring gaskets and ever tying. After we replaced it we got same error for same bank 2.
Then i decided to try this hack : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ck-repair.html
So i connected wire that coming out of computer for bank 2 to bank 1 wire and now i got check engine for bank 1.
So right now i have an error for bank 1 after that wire trick, but originally it was bank 2.
Please help! Knock sensors replaced wiring for those that come in the kit replaced. I don't know what to do.
Is it bad computer?
Thank you in advance

Did you do this while the battery was connected? If so try disconnecting the battery give it some time to reset and see what happens. Happened in my 98 es300 with o2 sensors, I didn't turn the battery off long enough when I first did the repair so it didn't reset correctly and the check engine light reappeared under a different bank. Since that has to do with air I drove it a little an took out the battery for a couple hours your usually only need about 15 min. (Just wanted to be sure) Put the battery back in and have been driving without problems ever since; really came in handy as I was due for inspection. As for the hack I personally wouldn't do it but if u tried it one way and it didn't work try it the opposite way.

I can bet you that you purchased aftermarket knock sensors. Those seldom work properly with this car.
Even though they cost alot more, when it comes to knok sensors, only original Lexus knock sensors should be used.
An aftermarket Wiring harness should normally be ok, but for the difference in price, I would still go for an original Lexus wiring harness.

I agree with using original oem parts but did not have a lot of money at the moment.
