Default Projector Retrofits a must before a HID kit?

I have a 00 ES that didn't come with stock HID. I was planning on buying a Philips HID kit from Xenon and installing it until someone said I'll be blinding other drivers and it won't look that good unless I do projector retrofits first. Is this true? Will I be much happier if I go that route?

Yes, do a retrofit with projectors and do it right.

Don't risk other peoples lifes because you want cool blue lights ( or at least that's what the majority of the people want).

Good, you will have more usable light then! Do it right, and you'll be happy that you did.

Check out the classifieds on HIDPlanet.com I found my LS430 with the tsx clear lens for a under $225 shipped. Using a projector housing with the hid is ideal. You'll get the results you want which is more light on the road.

But honestly I've never heard of anyone that died from hid in a halogen. It's more annoying than anything.

A misaligned bulb or lifted truck is worst imo.

I've never been blinded by hids not in a projector, and I've never been flashed for having them in my halogen

Be different, try the LED route in the halogen... I know their non-projector, but I'd be curious as to how well they pan out in the H7 housing.

More info in this thread;

I put some into my moms CT, at <60$ I had nothing to lose and save myself the hassle of an HID kit... Really happy with them, and amazing output, like in the first post of that thread.

Cuts the install time in half with zero modifications and having to find a spot for ballasts & associated extra wires.

Can I always go back and do retrofit after installing a HID kit?

Ok I'm thinking I'll probably go ahead and use a projector. Where do I need to get one from!? Any recommendations
