2ES (1992-1996) Owners Check-In
I've been a member of this great forum for a while, and I was following the posts even before I became a member, and it seems like there are constantly less and less of us with the second generation ES Lexuses. I think everyone with a 2nd generation ES (1st gen ES250 people are welcome too) should check in here, and then we can help each other with any issues we may have. I know we all want to keep as many of these old cars on the road as possible, that's why I thought this thread might be useful.
These are becoming borderline classics, I've even gotten a few compliments on mine from random strangers :-)

Just hit 160,000 miles this past weekend, original paint, headlights, and all that. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm-ish out so it'll get an oil change and hopefully a wash and wax

Just bought a 1995 s300 with only 90K miles on it! Everything works like it should and it runs like a charm.
Will post pics tomorrow, but this thing is mint

First Lexus 1996 Lexus ES300
Yes! Have been looking all over this forum and it is few and far between to find anything useful for my first Lexus. Definitely needs to be cleaned up and detailed but other than that, it runs great after fixing a power steering leak and getting new spark plugs and wires. Bought it for $750 and just under 180k miles. Front passenger door would not open from outside, but was easily fixed with another plastic clip that connects the handle to the rod that connects to the mechanism to release it. There is no record of a timing belt or water pump change, so that is my next project coming up this week.
Only modifications was an aftermarket head unit (Kenwood DDX370) that came with purchase and I changed the backseat out with kept up and clean backseat from a 97 ES that I lucked up finding at a junkyard. Future projects are going to be to replace wood grain trim with clean ones, LED lights, climate control lights, cluster needles, new speakers, new amp, and two subs, detail inside and out, and new paint job after exterior cosmetics are done. If you guys have any pointers or useful links to threads or sites, I would be truly thankful for any tips and ideas.
Hopefully this thread will now have some new life to it because I'm really hoping so.

ughhhh you guys are killing me! sold my 2es in 2013ish. Funny, it was the same age and mileage then as my 4es is now. Gorgeous cars, please dont let them see salt and always treat them right. What a treasure to drive to get ice cream in another 20 years....
