do 2nd gen rims fit 3rd gen?
Hello folks,
Just curious if 97-01 15" rims fit an 03 ES300?
What would be the recommended tire size on the 15's? I believe the stock ones are 215/60/16.
Thanks

I can imagine you should be fine with the rims on your 03 but I'm not positive. As for 15in tires the size is 205/65/15 to keep your speedometer in range. That will give you a 0.76% misreading, anything under 2% is fine.

Nope. I had a set of nice Blizzaks on 15" steel rims as winter tires for my '98, decided to keep them when I sold the car. I was saddened to find they would not fit on my '05. They would not clear the front brake calipers. Sold them to a co-worker that has an '05 Camry, they fit fine on his car but his is a 4 cylinder, I guess the calipers are smaller.

This link has a lot of specs regarding bolt pattern, center bore size and offset. Toyota was nice enough to keep things pretty similar across their product line. The additional factor to be considered when downsizing rim size is whether they will clear the brake calipers. Scroll down to 5×114.5 bolt pattern. Also, if the bore on your desired wheel is larger than the one on your car you may need hubcentric rings, they are pretty cheap and probably worth the investment.
