Hello, I have a 99 Es300 and was wondering if anyone knew the best route to take regarding the cassette player quality? I've looked around for aux adaptors but 99 and earlier models seems to have very little products and information.

My question is, is there a clear way on how to install an aux cord onto my specific car? without making any crazy custom things?

If not, whats the best cassette aux adaptor I can buy? my old RCA one started getting scratchy sound and fading out on one side so i got a Scoshe and it seems like ****tier quality and makes a loud annoying sound when fast-forwarding.

you don't need an adaptor. Just get a FM transmittor. It plugs into the 3.5mm headphone jack, and transmits an FM signal of that source on any frequency you select. There's like 100's of them in different types and flavours. no AUX input needed.

I bought a decent cassette adapter from Walmart for about 10 bucks. I originally had one from TARGET for 20 bucks but the sound was horrible. The one from Walmart worked pretty good I believe it's a phillips - i stopped using it once I replaced the radio in the car.

Have you actually listened to one of them before? I've heard they suck more than cassette tapes :S

Only other option i've been looking at is maybe a bluetooth casette? But that would probably sound even worse

I use a Phillips cassette adapter in my 03, sound is actually not too bad. I have not had much luck with the fm transmitters, usually got a lot of distortion. You could always try cleaning the head in your current adapter with a solvent like alcohol, that may help. On the positive side at least all of these options are cheap so you don't have to break the bank finding a solution.

I own one, it cost under $20, and the quality is a touch less than CD quality, with lossless files (FLAC), so with a 128kbps MP3 it probably would sound bad, but that's a crappy source to begin with anyway. I used an S4 phone, and a 10.1 (samsung) tablet, with similar results. I did notice that changing frequencies resolve issues, I ended up using something at the far end of the spectrum to get away from the radio stations, only to find 10 minutes later the police also use that frequency hahha.

I didn't recommend it because I though it was a bad idea.
