Default DIY Shock Revalve Series: BC Racing BR shock dismantle & Revalve w/ Bilstein parts

Since the BC Racing BR coil over cartridges/ inserts have pretty much the same dimensions across lexus/totyota model family (GS300,SC300,Supra,LS400, ES300) I thought to post this for those that may be interested (DIY'ers). As long as the BC racing cartridge's piston is 46mm in diameter the same can apply.

This is for racing and stiffer performance but can shocks be re valved for a smoother ride?

Yes they can.

In PART 1 (putting together right now) I should go into detail about this, and if not please feel free to ask/remind me. This may not make sense at this second, but in short, it all relates to what percent of critical damping at the various shock shaft speeds you choose. PART 1 will address this.

An example of this is to take a look in PART 3. The final results for my 1st revalve attempt are softer than the TRD/ bilstein I was shooting for. My goal is to match the TRD/Bilstein setup with my BC BR dampers on a 10kg/mm (559lb/in) spring.

My 1st revalve attempt came out to be a setup for a 6kg/mm spring (335lb/in - much softer). Even the owner of the shock shop who did the shock dyno told me that according to the dyno and my particular car weights those settings would match a 6kg/mm spring.

This is because I deviated from the bilstein manual and estimated a particular shim because I did not have what the manual called for in stock. If I had just used the shim equivalent equations, I feel I would have been darn near spot on.

EDIT: PART 1 is started.
