Replacing missing Mark Levinson with standard Lexus changer.
My 2004 ES originally had the Mark L with nav system. Apparently the head unit did not function, and so the dealer yanked the head unit and put in a low end, single Din CD changer, including leaving the arm rest cd changer.
Since I am a bit old fashioned, I would really like a multi disc CD changer in my dash. I can buy a used Lexus in dash unit on eBay for around $100.
The eBay units do not have any of the wire harness.
Do the non Mark L use the same amp as the Mark L? Where should I look to make sure the amp is still there? Is this even doable for a few hundred buck or should I just go with using the MP3 player?

May have found my answer on youtube
Looks like the Mark L amp is located in the trunk passenger side of the car. Also looks like it may be only useful for another Mark L system. Finally, the wiring involved looks like a bear. I think I will just hook up XM and live with it. sigh..
