Default window controls

i have a 92 es300, and i can't roll up the front passanger window from the driver seat controls. i am able to roll that side down, but it won't go up. so everytime i roll it down, i have to stretch to the passanger seat controls and roll it up from there. lexus will charge me $200+ to fix this, will i be able to fix this myself? i assume it's a wiring problem. has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix this?? thanx

the window switches hook up to a circuit board, get one from a junk yard. Take it apart and see if wires have come lose. test the leads off the window switch using the switch that works as reference. I think at ground, the windows don't move. +/- is up and -/+ is down *i think*

hey i have the same problem but my rear drivers side won't go down
i took my switch apartt and it is the little switch button itself
the button has 2 pieces of plastic that sticks down into a plastic holder that attaches to a rocker switch underneath
one of yours is broken
good luck i can't find one easy
it is the same as the camry and the main drivers control ( sold as one unit) is about 250 canadian
the switches are the same as the
acuras and many other japanese cars
they use the exact same switches
the only differences in many of the is the door lock button and the power window lock out
if you find one drop me a line i might buy the other buttons
you could just buy one window switch like any of the other doors and replace the bad peice by replacement

good luck

when you hit the switch and the window doesn't move...do you see a drain on the power in the car.
Dome lights, dash lights etc, dim slightly when the switch is pressed. If so, it ain't the switch. It may be the tracks are dry and the rollers are binding or it may be that the motor (most likely the electrical brushes are shot) is in need of replacement.
Solution, grease the tracks and/or replace the motor.

I speak from experience.....my Bonneville had this problem. Rear left window. Wouldn't go down, but when I hit the switch there was battery drain. Replaced motor....problem all gone.

no power drain at all, the window just won't come back up if i use the driver's switch. the motor is fine because the passanger switch works perfectly ok. i'm thinkin skperformance is right. cuz it's not sensing that the button is flipped up to roll up the window on the driver's switch. doesn't sound like a simple fix... i can live with reachin over to the passanger side to roll up the window, i don't roll down that window often anyway so it's not a major problem. thanx guys
