p1354 p1305 p1315 p1325 Glowing CAT
Let me start by Thank You to all members here. I have trolled this forum for quite sometime and have found many solutions. Unfortunately I have to make an account now to ask this one question.
I have these codes for this. p1354 system malfunction bank 2
p1305 p1315 p1325 -- igniter circuit malfunction. cylinder 2 4 6.
Car runs great when first started, idle is super smooth. But when i drive it for more then 15minutes it shudders and I lose all power. Yesterday i drove it to my brothers house to show him what was going on. To my surprise the front manifold cat was glowing red. Replaced the cat today figuring the cat was plugged. That would be the reason for all the codes on just one cylinder bank. Changing the manifold did nothing to remedy the problem and the glow returned. So I hollowed out the old manifold cat and reconnected it in a once in lifetime gamble that the junk yard car had a bad cat too. Safe to say It feels a little different but i still have no power and the codes have returned.
-I have checked to make sure the water pump is working.
-I have changed the coil packs from the back side to the front same codes tripped with known good coils.
-Changed the spark plugs
-Changed radiator side manifold
-Changed the oil just incase .

P1354 Lexus - Variable Valve Timing System Malfunction Bank 2
Possibles.
- Dirty or low engine oil
- Valve timing
- Oil control valve <--- replace this thing first, it's probably the issue.
- Variable Valve Timing controller assembly
- Engine Control Module (ECM)
P1305 Toyota - Igniter Circuit Malfunction No. 2
The P1305 code is for the ignition coil No.2 and is set when there is no IGF signal to the ECM during engine operation.
So, you have a bad coil as well.
P1315 Toyota - Igniter Circuit Malfunction No. 4
The P1315 code is for the ignition coil No.4 and is set when there is no IGF signal to the ECM during engine operation.
So, you have a two bad coils ?.
P1325 Toyota - Igniter Circuit Malfunction No. 6
The P1325 code is for the ignition coil No.6 and is set when there is no IGF signal to the ECM during engine operation.
So, you have a three bad coils ?.
... not bloodly likely.
No, I bet your coils are just fine. But probably not working well right now. I think you either have a wiring fault, or it's somehow related the VVTI oil valve issue (which I doubt). I would check over the wiring harness, and look for damage. I bet the main power wire for the rear coils (it's just one wire) ... (it is rear isn't it?) bank is damaged, or a plug has disintegrated.

I've never seen a correlation between coil packs and OCV's as of yet, but the OCV's cause too many other problems to list. It seems very likely that would be your issue. You could always swap bank one and bank two's OCVs and see if the codes return on cylinders 1, 3, 5 (bank one)

Change both, around 100$ Aftermarket for the pair.
For some reason the ECU trips that series of codes when this happens.
What you're describing was 100% what happened to me out of the blue in a drive-thru [shuddering]. Later found the cat was glowing red, etc. sometime good when driving for less than 5mins...
TL: DR; change the OCV's and you'll be driving in no time. Best part is that it takes a whole 30mins [careful not to lose/break clips] to swap both out!
*and clean the filters since you're in there*

Yes it can, and in my case [and many others on here] it did.

I think i might love you. Did you have any acceleration problems before the failure. I have always had lag when pressing the pedal to the floor.

It happened in the winter time during huge snow, so the road conditions bias my experience.
But yes, CEL/ TRAC OFF. Shuddering, FEEL loss of power, etc. After a drive, I smelled something burning, the shroud on my rad fans melted a little bit lol. And of course, the glowing cat.
I'm not sure WHY, but for some reason the OCV's trick the car into limp mode and the front bank injectors are just pissing fuel into the combustion chamber [hence the glowing cat, not burning cleanly and burning off in the exhaust manifold].
I tried three new coils, the spark plugs were changed 8mos prior to this happening with better-than-oem Iridiums. The computer was showing the code.
Further reading, in case the ocv isn't the solution as my codes [when I got them], were different than yours; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...fire-code.html
Good luck!

Thank you for all the help. It was the OCV solenoid. Car runs better then ever. So well in fact i ordered the other side. Some of my constant hesitation has disappeared and im figuring with the other side replaced it will all but be gone. but that is another topic for another day.
Will update when installed.

Do this before you change your OCV!
I did this and fixed the same problem in my lexus es300. Get the OCV off your bank2 and start your car for seconds, if there are sludge there it will flush out. I got a towel near the place and caught the sludge. really happy that I don't have to change my OCV. (Also had it tested with 12V battery and it was working fine. It is a solid part that won't get wrong easily.)
