Speaker and Sound Upgrades?
I don't have the Mark Levinson audio package, but I do have the subwoofer. What I'd like to do, though, is upgrade my speakers and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

Well it dspends on how much you want to spend. I would go to some car audio shops and listen to diffetent component systems. Component system + an amp pushing it. I would go ahead and get a new radio to

I too have a non ML system and am interested in this too and would love to hear all options.
I'm willing to spend up to $1000 on a new head unit and speakers.
My main questions are:
1. Can I use the existing amp and if so, is it good enough?
2. Can I just swap the existing sub with a better 10-12" sub in the same location? I would hate to add a box in the trunk as it takes up useable space.
OP: I'm not trying to hijack your thread. Just thought more questions would add to your options as well. Hope you understand

Just installed the following.
Kenwood DNX691HD
JL audio XD 600/6
JL Audio 600/1.....
and last but not least a Helix DSP. I HIGHLY recommend you et this to help tie it all together.
Notice I didn't get speakers. Try your stock speakers with the Helix DSP which helps time align your speakers, set proper sound stage and other nuances. Bet you'd be surprised at how they sound afterwards. If given the choice of having top end speakers that are slapped in there vs stock with DSP my money would be on the latter.

The upgrade you referenced, was that for your RX or your sedan?
Did you install the upgrades yourself or from an audio installer?
If in your RX, are you willing to message me more details about the upgrade?
My RX came with the 12-speaker premium setup.

also, if the sub isn't working can it be that the amp doesnt work and causing the sub not to work?

I am glad that I didn't spend additional money on the speakers. Replacing the unit cost me quite a lot so, I didn't want to spend too much on an already old car.
