92 ES300 No Fire/Spark From Cylinder
Bought a 92 ES300 under the premise that 2 of the fuel injectors were bad. Never got to hear it run, but got it cheap so figured I'd take a stab. Got it towed home to my garage, wouldn't start but would crank. Checked fuel pressure and discovered fuel pump was not coming on as it should and also that there is no fuel pump relay, so jumped a wire to the ODB1 "fn" port to bypass the relay and got it to start. Runs very rough, discovered no fire on the front cylinder closest to the passenger side (all the plugs were black and fouled out too). Installed fresh oil change, new plugs & wires, rotor, distributor cap, intake plenum gasket and 6 new fuel injectors. From what I understand the Circuit Opening Relay controls the fuel pump, so I bought one, but haven't located exactly where it goes, thus to start it I continue to bypass it for now.
After the install of the new parts, won't even stay running now, and there is still no spark on that cylinder as mentioned above. Not running quite as rich but still very poorly. What would be my next best move to get this beast running properly, and for the love of God where does the Circuit Opening Relay go, definitively? I'm thinking the distributor itself may be the problem, but could the one ignition coil partially fail in this regard, allowing some cylinders to spark but not all cylinders?
