Default ES300 Cat Converter

First I wanna say hello to the forum! So I was told that I need to replace both of my cat converters (the ones that come out the engine). They are stupid expensive so i was thinking are there any other options you guys have? I have to pass emissions here in NYC so it has to be legit mods. any info would be greatly appreciated!

More details required, such as:

What year is your car? What symptoms do you have? How did your mechanic determine that you need 2 Cat converters. How long have you owned your car?

Anything else you can add?

Welcome to Club Lexus.

Its a 2000 Lexus Es300. Ive had it for about a week. He tells me its the cats because the car has no power and by process of elimination he determined it was the cats.

What and how did he use his process of elimination? What did he do, what did he eliminate, and why? Did he actually test the Cat converters? How?

Any check engine lights, or codes in memory? What makes you think it's underpowered?

It's like pulling teeth out of you. You really do need to provide more details and to elaborate alot more. Otherwise, all you'll get back from members here, are speculations and guesses.
