Default Noisy Fuel Injector

All, I have one noisy FI ticking away on my ES300, and I would like to replace it but I can't identify which injector it is. When I put the stethescope on each one, they all sound like they're ticking, but the noise is consistent with a single unit it that makes sense.

It's not a valve, checked all of those and they are quiet. Thoughts appreciated.

Injector ticking is existent in every Toyota engine. My 01 ES with 162k did it before I sold it. My new 01 GS with 135k does it too. One time when I was with my mom at the dealership, and brand new 2015 RC350 pulled up next to us and you wouldn't believe, but it's engine had the injector ticking noise too.

I would disagree somewhat since my RX's are very quiet (RX300 even has the same 1MZFE Engine), but they don't have the mileage yet of my ES. 3rd party shop told me not to worry, ticking FI's only means they're working. But, sometimes I hear the thing and just want to replace it since it wouldn't be a whole lot of $ or work.

Try running gumout, MMO, or some other fuel injector cleaner through it. May not make a difference, but you never know. I'm not a huge believer in this sort of stuff but I will say my MPG always goes up a decent amount when I occasionally run MMO in the tank.

Yea I have run two Techron Concentrates through it over the past two months and nothing. I'm probably making a big deal of nothing because the damn car get's 28mpg on the highway if you set the cruise control at 65...it just performs great but that noise just bothers me because I know if I knew which injector it was, I could replace it easily...

Can't you pull individual injectors, with the car still running? So could you pull injectors until the ticking goes away? For some reason I think that's a thing.

I've never done that but it seems to me if the car's running and I yank an injector out, won't it spray gas all over the place?

I have no idea, i can't rememebr where, but I read somewhere that this is how the person found out which injector was making the noise. It was either on here or youtube. Its been a few years since I had my es300

not on the 1mz-fe. the rear injectors are covered by the upper manifold. Although, one could install something which allows you to switch the injectors on that bank off, one by one.

they won't mean 'remove it', they will be talking about the electrical plug which would stop operations. If they are talking about removing it, they are full of it :P
