Default Trying to find a true ignition source on ES330

Hi All. I'm trying to install a separate battery for my amp and I need to find a true ignition source in order to install the battery isolator so it doesn't drain my main battery. Does anyone know if any of the fuses can serve as a true ignition source? I have an add-a-circuit fuse that I can use in order to avoid having to patch into a wire in the steering column. I can do that if I have to, but I'd rather do it with the add-a-circuit. Thanks.

I think what you are asking for is not an ignition source, but switched power, or IGN. My suggestion is that if you can't find that yourself you should get a professional to install the thing you need. This is pretty simple. What you need to do is install a wire from the Alternator switched power fuse to the battery isolator, first you would need a muli-meter to test the fuse you select's operation to prove it's the correct one. And the wire would have to be on the correct side of that fuse (the alternator side), well .. I'd put it on that side. I would then run a single wire strand (10-15amp capable, without a single join in it, all the way to the isolator).

.... anyway .... You do not need to do, what you are saying you need to do, for the reasons you state.

Having a second battery will not drain your first battery. You do not need an isolator.
