Help shops giving me run around
Hi I'm new to the site I was wondering if someone could help with my problem. I have a 1999 Lexus es 300 and my check engine light is giving me the codes p0300 p0301 p0303 p0305 p0171 and p1349. I rides really rough to a point I don't want to even drive it. I misfires a lot which is causing me to get gas every time I go out. Also sometimes when I start it up my rpms would start jumping. I suspect the ocv but every time I get a dianostic they have told me everything from a timing belt to a tune up thank you in advance.

P1349 pretty much points to the oil control valve, although it could be other things.
Replace the oil control valve your self if you are comfortable. Its really easy to replace.

I had the same codes, besides p0171, and it was the oil control valve.

Ditto. It's likely the OCV. Relatively simple repair and fairly inexpensive. P1349 is bank one, the bank closest to the rear of the car. Access to the Bank one OCV filter for cleaning is a little rough. I ended up removing the air intake and a couple of vacuum hoses to gain access. Probably take you a half hour tops.

Bank one OCV location looking to the rear of the car from the front of the car. Note: the photo says "pain in the ***" I did not have any real problem removing the Bank one OCV.
Location of the Bank two OCV and Filter
Bank two (front) and bank one (rear) OCV
Close up of the bank one (rear) oil control valve.
