2005 ES330 - rear door on the passenger side
2005 ES330 with 67K miles.
I was trying to back out of the garage and my kid opened the rear door on the passenger side at the same time. The door was jammed on the garage wall and the window was broken into small pieces.
Because the door was jammed on the garage wall, the door hinge is not working perfectly. I need to use a little extra strength to close the door. After it is closed, the door seems to fit the car pretty well though. There is no gap between the door and car body. We will see if there is leaking when we have heavy rain next time.
Right now, my plan is just to put on a new window and keep driving.
Please advise:
1. I was quoted $550 for the window. Do you think the new window will fit the door well?
2. If there is a small leak on the door when we have heavy rain, what is my options? a. Only drive in the dry weather. b. Replace/repair the door. c. Buy a new car.

You need to have the hinges adjusted (or possibility replaced) at a competent body shop that can make sure everything is aligned. Why did the window pop if it didn't touch the wall, but the door did?
The glass is $200 online:

That's odd that even happened considering the doors are supposed to lock as you go into gear...hmm.. Yeah definitely take it to a quality body shop for it to be realigned and repaired before you cause further damage. I would recommend staying out of the elements, you don't want to risk damaging any electrical components, that would just be more problems!
