TL Type S Rim on 94 ES300
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a 94 ES300 with stock 15 inches rim. I want to upgrade them to 17 inches but try not to put spacers to the rear.
After some looking, I have found a set of 17 inches from Acura TL type S with the same offset +45. I searched the forum and someone mentioned that I still need spacers at the back. This is what puzzling me. I thought if they have the same offset, spacers is not required. I intend to put on 215/45R17 tires on these rims, same size as what IS300 has. Any suggestion before I make the trade?
This is the thread that said I will need a spacers

Thanks in advance.

Its not just the offset you need to consider, its the offset in relation to the width of the wheel. Your stock wheel is 6" with a +45 offset, if the new wheels are 8" with a +45 offset you are going to lose an inch clearance between the rim and the strut and they will also stick out an inch closer to the fender. On an 8" wheel you need a +20 offset or lower to run with no spacer, my wheels are 8" with +30 offset and I run a 15mm spacer and its still very tight.

Hi Kusay76, thanks for the clarification. You are absolutely right, there are so many variable that have to be considered. I might better off buying a set from IS300. Many people here have done that and should not be too far off. Just wonder if the 10mm spacer (at the back) is a must? or I can just do a direct bolt on.
