My key fob works, on both my main and my spare keys.
but neither of them work from more than 5 feet away from the vehicle.
and even so, I still have to click the unlock button a few times (or hold sometimes)
Would replacing the battery with a brand new one increase the range and make it so my car unlocks by just clicking the button once?
For Reference my Key Fob model number is: FCC ID:HYQWDT-5
Here's a Reference image i found on google, it looks exactly like this.
If the electronics are otherwise okay and the battery is not putting out a full 3 volts, the range of the transmitter will be less than at full power. So, yes, a weak battery will decrease teh transmitter's range.
