Hello gang, I just purchased my second Lexus yesterday, going from 92 es300 to 2000 es300.
I lucked out big time and was very surprised that it had the factory HID option which is rare, just like the parking sensors and active suspension. There is a special Icon on the Tach side between 4000 and 5000
Anyway sometimes when I start the car the yellow light on the dash warms up slightly then turns off after a few seconds if this an indication of the level sensor failing? And is the level behind the rear bumper as other people have said?
I'm not sure what you're describing as a problem, but the height adjustment mechanism is basically inline with the rear wheels. Much closer to the right side of the car (passanger side)
It's basically underneath the rear floor, and consists of some levers and an electrical wire connection.
You can spot it easily from beneath the car (if it's up on a lift)

The light flickering on then going off is strange. Happens only when I start the car. I have checked headlight level against a garage wall and also as a passenger in a car in front and they are straight on.
I am assuming there are small internal servo motors in the headlight housing to adjust the level if needed. In addition to the outside manual wheel gear.
