Default '92 ES300 Keyless Entry Help!!

Call me a cheapskate, but I'm trying to buck the system. The Lexus dealerships in my area seem to have me over a barrel and aren't using any lube (haha)! My current master key is smashed and I'm trying to replace it with a new one. This remote has the button on the key. I purchased a key from ebay in hopes of having it re-programmed (seller swears I can have it reprogrammed). Then got the bright idea to speak with 3 separate dealerships and they all told me it couldn't be done. The cost for a new set $242! One dealer explained that if the key were a true MASTER key with no cuts a locksmith could take my VIN # and cut the key and re-program the key. But low and behold the key I purchased is a cut MASTER. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I know what an ignoramous I am for going this route, so opinions pertaining to the dilema are GREATLY appreciated. THANKS everyone for any suggestions!!!

since the car is the first-gen ES, the chip inside has to be completely reprogrammed. i would say go aftermarket, or get a completely new set.
you got gyped on the ebay key. sorry...
