Left rear window unresponsive

Left rear window unresponsive
i have a 2005 Lexus ES330. When I try to open the left rear window both with the power button on the drivers side, and the rear door's button, the rear left window is unresponsive; it does not make even the slightest sound. After playing around with the buttons, I notice that pressing the corresponding button on the driver's side (intended to open the left rear window) will open the right rear window instead. The right rear window will proceed to be opened by both buttons and if no buttons are pressed will come down by itself. The only way to close it, is to quickly make it go up then window lock it. What would cause this type of problem? I have tried slamming the left rear door and that does not help. Thank you all in advance.

I believe there is function to open all windows at once. You might have triggered that.
I had the same issue, I just had to slam the door a couple of times really really hard. Worst case, pull the rear door panel off and check the wiring to see if the motor is getting power when the switch is pressed. If so, try giving a hard rap to the motor.

You should still hear the actuator I believe, if it is this common problem. You may have a bad motor or actuator.

Do some searching in these forums - there is some sort of 'programming' of the window system that must be done occasionally. I too own a 2005 ES330 and when I went to the Lexus dealer to buy it, testing out the windows, the left rear door window on mine wouldn't go down either. I told the salesman I wasn't buying the car unless the windows all worked from the start. He told me that it might need to be programmed, drove the car off to the service dept, and several minutes later came back with it, and the window worked perfectly and continues to do so nearly a year later. Not one hiccup.
I know I've seen posts about what it takes to deal with this - these windows don't just have a motor with 12 coming from a switch, there's some witchcraft going on behind the scenes. Hopefully you can find some posts like I am talking about.
