floormats in the 02-03 ES
Now that winter is over (maybe not: snow predicted for Monday) I am looking to replace my Lexus floormats with new ones. Only the driver's mat has the locking clips to keep it from slipping. Today, the dealer said the mats are sold in sets of 4 and only the front mats have the holes for the clips.
The kick in the pants is that all four mat locations have the receptacles in the floor for the locking clips.
Do any 02-03 ES CL owners have all 4 mats anchored with locking clips or only the front ones?
Why would lexus put the hole for the locking clip in the rear floor but not sell mats for the ES that can be locked? Am I missing something?
thanks

Looking in my 2K2 ES,
Driver side front mat is anchored, Passenger mat has no holes for the clips, but there are holes where the clips would come out. Same thing with the rear 2, where the mats don't have holes, but the floor does.
I also looked at my dad's 2K1 LS430, and both driver and front passenger's mats are anchored. Rear seat mats have no holes, but the floor doesn't have holes to house the clips.

ok, at least I am normal. Well, in regards to floor mats.
The new set will allow locking of both front mats. The back ones really don't have anywhere to slip.
I can't believe how dirty these where. Its not even worth cleaning.
Time for new ones.
Thanks for the helpful information wdlugitch and cryhavok.
steviej.
How would black mats in a light charcol grey interior look? At least it would help hide the dirt.

The mats/clips in my '02 ES are same as cryhavok's.
Whether you get a new set or decide to clean your old ones, be sure to get a can of Scotchguard (the version for carpets in the blue can) and spray it onto the carpets before putting them back into the car. A $5 can may save you from having to get a new set of carpets more often than you'd like.
