Be careful, as the saying goes..you get what you pay for. i would be a little hesitant having it done by someone who would charge only $500, and believe me there are plenty of people out there that will do it for that. Which is fine if you dont mind a little orange peel,some random blobs of paint on the weatherstriping and having your paint lift 6 months later because the car was never sanded before painting.
You have the right idea,do your homework, go to a reputable shop, ask to see any examples of their work or just phone your auto insurance co. and ask them what body shops they send claims to in your area, most of these places will warrant their work for as long as you own your car.
Also be wary of dealerships, remember their principle objective is to get your car in, get it out, and get the next one in without giving it any extra attention. But overall, for a complete job I would say $2000 - $3500
