Just got 01 ES300 Coach
Hey, new to the forum here, and wanting to learn more about this sweet car...
It is a 2001 ES300 Coach w/144,000 miles. Car was my moms and its been in the family for the last 10 years since 40k. (She got an 07 RX 350 w/50k
We did the Timing belt service at 90k in 2010. Its been very well maintained.
I just had the fluids flushed, new upper left motor mount, BOTH pre-cats replaced and the 3rd deleted as they were all blocked and this was confirmed once a shop cut the 3rd cat off and all kinds of metal chunks came out. Very bizarre. But once it was fixed, car felt like it was being choked out, hauled *** when I floored it.
FEW ISSUES:
Drivers seat wont go up and down any more, where can I find this motor and is it hard to replace?
Ordered a new master window switch as I was told the right rear window switch was bad.
Other than that, what can I expect next, or any recommended service due soon?
Thanks in advance!!

Congrats on the ES.
I picked up my Gem 2 weeks ago and been doing stuff to it already.
I got a 2000 ES300 Platinum edition Diamond White w/ Factory HIDS, guess this... only 46.6k original miles.
Was super clean and garaged its' whole life, bought it from the son of an older gentlemen who recently passed. RIP thanks for taking care of the car!
I discovered two problems. Everything worked except the power mirrors, I fixed it this weekend, if you're curious take a look at the mirror thread.
My hood struts are sagging, and I bought 2 new ones from my local dealer at $118each+tax, unfortunately I'm in Hawaii and mainland dealers won't ship them here (cuz pressurized).
So I found the service manual online, just search google for 97 ES300 service manual.
I found a link with it for download, so I would advise you to find and download it.
There was a section on troubleshooting seat motors.
if the seat doesn't move at all it's likely the ECM fuse or ECM module.
I would have a look there if I were you.
BTW, I replaced the CAT on my dad's 2001 Honda odyssey which had a similar stalling problem when going uphill.
that thing was clogged to hell, I couldn't even seen through it with a flashlight.
I recently flushed the trans fluid and changed the pan gasket w/ strainer in my sister's 98 Camry V6 1MZ, that was a Pain in the *** and messy job. I'd consider doing it on your car if I were you, I used Vavoline Maxlife ATF (full synthetic) and a Hastings Filter/gasket combo.
Good Luck.

46k miles! Wow! Brand new. The seat goes back and forth, just not up and down, motor makes a "click click sound". Dealer says its definitely shot, just wondering if I can do the job myself?
My hood struts are shot too, going to check Ebay.
I love this car. I cannot believe how smooth and quiet it is and its almost 15 years old!
Light years ahead of Honda/Acura (and im an Acura nut) !!

oh wow I'm jealous, that's the exact color combo I wanted!
Silver and dark gray interior!
looks like it's in great condition! really congrats, the only Coach editions I've seen around here are the ones with the ugly 15" rims, looks like you got the same looking 16" rims that came on my Platinum ed.
I think you can fix the seats yourself, but that really depends on how mechanically inclined you are. I avoid the dealers around here like the plague, unless there's no other way.
There's a lot of great parts recyclers on eBay, I always check there first for used parts esp. if I know they are going to be crazy expensive new....
As for the hood struts, looks like Amazon carries them but they are aftermarket, some of the comments I've read are that they aren't the same quality as OEM. I'm trying to keep the car as original as possible so I bit the bullet and bought the oem struts...
I should prob do my own intro page now, lol.

yah not too common but most of the coach editions I've seen around me have those rims, most 97-01 ES300s have the base 15" wheels, I've only see 2 or 3 other Platinum editions, but keep in mind I've only been noticing it more since I've joined the club.

@ Op - your seats are sooooo clean. My passenger seat has light tears from a butt button on jeans. I'll probably get both my front seats cleaned up to look as new as possible again eventually. My back seats on the other hand look like nobody has ever sat back there
