Rotor/pad for ES330
My 05 ES330 needs new rotors soon after160K miles form original rotors and 3 sets of OEM pads.
Now, I come down to Brembo rotors and akebono pads. My question is should I go with Brembo or akebono pads? Or should I stick with OEM rotors/pads?
parts only in Toronto, Canada. Daily drive, dyi, don't like noise (from Brembo pads?)
Toyota OEM rotors/pads $750
Brembo rotors/pads $550
Brombo rotors/akebono pads $450

I have front Wagner premium pads and rotors with no issue. Installed (DIY) about 3000 km ago.
Rotors/pads ran me about $160 tax in.....I get discount.
Without discount, it is about +$200
Toronto here as well.

Akenono ProACTs pads with Centric or Brembo rotors are always good. Akebono is oem for many toyotas. After using stuff from Autozone when taken to mechanics, all DIYs have been Akebono for over 5 yrs on all our cars. Other well known with good feedback are Hawks. For ferro-carbon Hawk HPS or Akebono ultra premiums.
Many times Wagner deals are available when there is a sale on Advance Auto online.
+1. Stick with Akebono pads if you have liked them. OEM pads or rotors is always a good option. Many have liked Akebonos pads and same goes for rotors. Brembos have good feedback.

I used wagner thermoquiet ceramic pads before they were cheap but only lasted about 1 year with 6k miles on them I've used brembo, wagner, hawk hps and akebono pads I currently have akebono proact pads with Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors definitely the best brake pad/rotor set-up I've ever owned in terms of quality and price I will only buy akebono pads from now on just my view and experience with brake pads good luck on your decision.

I haven't had to deal w/rotors on our car, but I've had great results on this and other vehicles with Raybestos Ceramic. Come in two grades, PG and SG. Both work well, low dust, much better cost than Akebono. I'm commuting with the car, not tracking it, so I don't need the ultimate bleeding edge cost/performance.

You should be perfectly fine with Brembo rotors/Akebono pads here. The same high-quality without having to pay the extra $$$.

Maybe $15-30. YMMV. Guessing. Our dealers charge over retail in which case it might be more. It depends online or at dealership. Some have shipping charges additional, etc. When there is a sale I guess its about equal so it would not be a bad idea to check before making purchases. OEM is always safe, AM can get better ones for about same price. Again it depends on what you want. Note: Akebono is oem.

I am an OEM snob and thought I would never use anything other than factory pads on the many Toyota/Lexus vehicles I have owned over many decades. However, I must say I prefer aftermarket Akebono ProActs. Have used them many times now with and without new rotors (prefer Centric Premiums but have used Raybestos AT and like them too) and would get them over factory regardless of price differences either way.
