2003 Toyota Highlander 2WD 3.0 V6 is what I got my alternator out of, 130 amps. That's probably the highest amperage drop in alternator you'll find over the counter.

Thanks. I believe Highlander, RX and Sienna will both be 130. What year is your ES? Any idea if that Highlander 2WD 3.0 V6 will work fine with my 06 ES330? Last, did you notice a difference as soon as you installed it? I only want to replace mine because im going to put in a system.

It probably won't work. I had an 01 with the 1mz, you have the 3mz 3.3 so it will probably be a different alternator. I had voltage drop issues on factory accessories but the bigger alternator solved that

Thanks. I'll ask the Toyota dealership what will work!

I wouldn’t use any company except CES after researching for months. They built me a custom 200 amp alternator that was plug and play (with the big 3 upgrade). I asked about a higher amp one but they said it wasn’t necessary if I was running less than 2,000 watts. Was a little less than $300.

There was a 100amp and a 130amp and the 130 amp was cheaper and more powerful so I took that. Installs like a factory alternator, no problem putting it in. After having my car sit for 2 days with the battery disconnected and no alternator, I cranked it and it fired up normally, and I was getting 13.5 volts with nothing on. I let it run for a few mins like this to see what would happen and everything seemed good.

Turned on the headlights and radio and still no change, hurray!
Turned on the AC and went to 12.5/.6 Kind of low but better than before

So I let it run with the AC, lights, and radio on for about 5 mins (I have not touched the throttle), and it stays at 12.5. Now, when I rev it, I get a little bit more out of it but not much.

Now I turned everything off and I'm not seeing a charge at all from the battery, only 12.5v, no increase or decrease no matter how much I rev. If I test at the alternator I'm getting like 13.4ish volts. It's been a two month ordeal and I'm done at this point.
ive been having an identical issue and replaced the alternator again with a remanufactures unit. The hotter it is outside, the weaker the alternator.
Did you ever figure out this issue?

This may or may not be helpful, but the reman alternators are mostly junk. The reman operations, generally take the old ones in, fix the rectifier, maybe new bearings and pulley, blast the case and clean them up, and nice shiny alternators go out the door! They do this, because when you go to Autozone, you ask, what's the cheapest?? When I had my ES, I replaced the alternator with a reman, then a year later that one went. I was stranded and got towed to a Toyota dealer. They put a new alternator in (a $600 visit!), and never had a problem again.

Well not exactly...when they replaced the alternator at the Toyota dealer, they found the power wire was corroded and damaged a little, which they repaired. That is a good reminder that wiring is an issue as cars age, resistance goes up and causes issues. Ground cables are typical issues with age. You might have a mechanic, one of them real old guys that actuall diagnoses and fixes stuff, do some testing of wiring to see if you got some issues. Or you just got a crappy reman which is highly likely.
