SRS Air Bag Light Light on 98 ES300 V6
I found some stuff on newer models, but I am wondering about 1998, how do you read out the code yourself, I was reading there is some codes that generate just because some simple condition may have occurred and the system has to be reset, and I would like to try to determine if the condition possible is one of those from the prior owner, and two what is the reset procedure on this particular model.
I think I saw something about jumping pins on the OBD port in a sequence, but where does the code read out then?
If there is a sticky for my generation ES then please point me to it cause I could not find anything.

How long has this light been on and did your friend get into a front end accident recently. If so, the front sensor may need replacing. If bag has been deployed, then you know the rest.

No, the vehicle has a clean car fax, no accidents, she bought it with the air bag light on. So I was wondering since I read sometimes a light condition may exist due to no significant issue, if I reset it, if it is significant will it relight?

Sometimes the airbag connector under the seat comes loose causing the SRS light to illuminate.
I'd try disconnecting the battery for 15 mins, unclipping the yellow connectors under the seats and cleaning the contacts with contact cleaner, alcohol or a pencil eraser, and putting everything back together tightly.
If the problem is fixed, the battery reset would have cleared the stored code and it should not return.
