Default Help

Hello I have a 2000 ES 300 that acts up on occasion and it is driving me crazy so I thought that someone might have some suggestions for me. I have 260M on it and all of the maint has been done on her. once in a while I will start it up and it is powerless and it I floor it the rpm still does not rise and sometimes it will kill so I re start it and I am lucky if I can get it up to 1000 rpm's and it seems like it is starving for fuel? eventually it will come out of it and run just fine then. It is not throwing a code what so over which does not help. I know the fuel filter has been in there for a long time and it might even be the original fuel pump is it possible this is where the problem lies? Is there a way to check any of this or do I have to wait for a failure & a CEL? I appreciate any help Thanks

I got nothing, .. it could be alot of things. I'd do a service and replace the plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter and drain the fuel tank put good fuel into it. Until it's happen alot it's hard to pick the issue. Could be a sensor issue, like a damaged o2 harness. (first thought).

If you give it gas as soon as it starts, does it keep up?

Pour some techron in the fuel tank +/- before/after premium fuel. Might need to start with service + TB and IAC cleaning before going on to other stuff. No cel yet.

when I give it gas it really struggles to stay running all if the A/F sensors & O2 sensors have been replaced in the last 20M as well as the spark plugs and timing belt about 40M ago So I guess I will start with some fuel injector cleaner / premium and go from there thanks

sometimes water (condensation) builds up in the fuel tank, overtime there can be quite alot. That will not pass through a fuel filter or an injector. The solution is to pour methylated spirits into the fuel tank, the ratio is about 10 litres of fuel to 1 litre of meths. The meths bonds with the water, and allows it pass through the fuel filter and be 'burnt' in combustion.
