Default Instrument Cluster ideas....

Well, I have this problem that it seems EVERYONE has. My needles on the speedometer/RPM/Gas/Temp guages are all blown out. Does anyone have or heard of some decent ideas on how to fix this or at least make the needles visible? Make some type of paint, or reflective tape, etc etc. Any ideas, any ideas at all?

I dont want to spend $500 for a new one, so I have been looking at used ones. Anyone selling theres??

Thanks for the help guys......

I've heard a couple of ideas about them. You might wana searh the forum. Other than that, your best bet is to check often on EBAY. They usually carry them.

You can also try looking at lexusdash.com. It's an interesting and practicable solution, but personally I'm not too crazy about having that kind of brightness on my gauge needles.

lexusdash is cool and all, REALLY bright, but still its around 500 for the needles only. i can get my entire cluster replaced for 550. heres what i have done and it works awesome(mine dont even look burnt out). at night, turn your headlights on and then turn the cluster lights all the way off. then turn them up just barely until the lights come back on. now leave them at this level. its the minimum brightness needed for your cluster, and soon enough, all of your lights come back to regular, not burnt out at all. now if you put them back on bright again, after 10 minutes they might start flickering, so i just leave mine on the low level, it provides enough light in both day and night situations, and its FREE!

Default me to

I noticed that also after my needle tip was flickering, and once I lowered the brightness it was ok. Now I always leave them down. Great minds think alike.

what about the people who's needles are ALL THE WAY out. No flickering, they are just DEAD. Well I just ordered one form a junk yard in SouthCarolina for $150. He said the needles work fine. Haha, we'll see about that......

Is the $150 for the entire gauge cluster, or just the needles themselves? If it's the former, that sounds pretty cheap; hope you get it for what it's worth. Let us know how it fits well in your ES.
