Default Es330 exterior LED's

Looking online and can't really tell which LED's are bright for turn signals front and rear. Want some really bright ones that won't cause the flasher to go hyper speed.

Also which LED's for reverse lights??

I got some LED's from eBay "zone tech" really nice for interior LED's. I also used them for parking lights in the front and for the lic plate.

Thanks.

All turn signal LEDs that I know of will hyper flash, the only way around it is through load equalizers (resistor packs) or the Flasher made for LEDs.

I have found that the sylvania or phiips LEDs are much better than the China bulbs, while they may not be as bright, they last a lot longer and there's less problems shorting out fuses. I get mine from Amazon.

I'm just about through with Ebay China LEDs, just had a LED bulb go bad on my 2009 Fit daily driver which also shorted out the fuse, replaced the fuse and it went out again until I removed the Faulty bulb. Those LEDs are nice and bright, but I found that they only last around 6 months...

Most of them will hyperflash. I stay away from the eBay junk - tried one that said it was 25 watts (like the standard 7440 bulb) and branded as CREE (supposedly, but I doubt it) but it still hyperflashed. You need either load resistors or one with them built in. I went with red LED iJDMtoy ones from Amazon with the load resistors built in - they are very bright and excellent quality, and no hyperflash. Easy install that is plug and play. A bit pricey for turn signal lights but like my 9005 LED high beams, the Lexus I want next uses them also, so I was able to justify it to myself. (40 bucks for two)

For the 194 bulbs that are in the parking lights, side markers, rear side marker, and license lights, I tried the Zone Tech ones as well as some others... Genssi, JDM Astar, Jtech Britelites. All have worked but the very brightest 194s I have found are from iJDMtoys also which draw even more current than spec. Serious power from these little LEDs. (16 bucks for two)

The bulb standard for the backup lights is 921. Since I don't spend a lot of time reversing I still use the incandescent bulbs that came with my Eagle Eyes LED tails.

I paired the ijdmtoy 194s with the clear side markers and they put out a lot of light to the sides. One of my favorite upgrades.

Personally I think charging 54 dollars for a set of clear side markers is borderline criminal, but this guy is the only one selling them, and honestly that's only about 10-15 more than I would expect to pay. They are much brighter than the opaque orange stock ones.

Thanks guys and thanks Chocolate...

Chocolate, what brand of LED's did you use for the high beams? (link if you have one)
I also have the Zone Techs and seem pretty good for now. If they go out ill definitely look into the ones you are using as well.

Agreed with the clear side markers from the ebay guy. I looked for them as well and he totally has the market for this item. its unfortunate but it is what it is with regards to pricing.
Have you had issues with the housing on the side marker? i have gotten some form ebay in the past for my previous cars and have had some issues with the glue/seal used from the clear cover to the backing. It allowed moisture to get in and caused condensation within the housing.

I just might do the ijdmtoy leds as well in the clear side markers... thanks for the tip....

Welcome...

No issues with the side marker. They are an easy install with just a single nut holding them in. The hardest part is the access to the nut but it's not too bad.

I say go for it. For about 70 bucks you have a mod that transforms the way the car looks and is a big upgrade to the lighting. I was ambivalent about them but when I saw it in person I felt it was definitely worth it. The side marker is pretty large and prominent on the 4ES.

The high beams I used are the Opt7 kit here: http://amzn.to/1PMCMp9 There are some on eBay as well but it's hard to know what you are getting as most are unbranded/generic. The nice thing about the Opt7 kit is it's a name brand with a ton of Amazon reviews. I don't have a proper camera, once I get my 6S plus later this month I'll get some better pics. For the time being you can check a thread I posted in recently where I have a shot I took with my old 4S. They are excellent and I would use them for any halogen upgrade. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...id-lights.html

I also used the Ijdmtoy 194s in my parking light and moved them to my turn signal reflector, and used a pair of 7440 extensions http://www.ebay.com/itm/130744129760 (9 bucks, used best offer to buy them at 7.50) to mount the turn signals (which I weatherproofed with Gorilla Tape clear repair) in the black plastic bracket behind the grille. The 194s weren't doing anything without a reflector and behind all that fluting, now I have proper LED drls that come on with the headlights.

Has anyone tried switchback LED's for the front turn signals in the 4ES?

For example, its a white DRL, but turns off and blinks amber when you put the indicator on?

I actually did the opposite and smoked my side marker lights, so that orange doesn't look as prominent:

Once you get them cleaned up, I recommend vinyl wrapping them to prevent rehazing. I got mine wrapped with a slight blue tinted vinyl:

Switch back LEDs are a great idea! I have seen them on cars and would be great to have.

I haven't paid attention but do the side markers blink as well or are they just solid for parking lights only?

Spedkar9 great idea on the wrap!

The side marker lights stay lit with the headlights in parking lights mode or on, but user Megafast13 said he wired them as switchbacks to function with the turn signal.
