15 years and 250k miles later....
Exactly 15 years and a month and 250k miles later..... today I hit 250k miles mark .
This is my daily driver car. Besides regular maintenance items (such as fluids, brakes, tires, spark plugs, timing belts etc), following were replaced;
Oxygen sensors
Knock sensor
Oil control valve
Brake calipers (two)
PCV valve (preventive maintenance)
Front axles (along with CV boot)
Front shocks
Took the car to Lexus for an oil change . The reason for it, I wanted (250k) miles recorded in service history. Asked them to inspect and provide me with repair items - only thing they came back with is to replace brake pads .
Car runs smooth, no oil consumption between oil changes and no leaks. Lately I am hearing a humming sound, need to address. Otherwise a beautiful piece of engineering by Lexus.

Wow, nice to know that if you take care of the Lexus, it will take care of you. Am I assuming correctly that the list of items replaced (except PCV valve) were as a result of a code popping up? And did you replace most of those items or did the dealership?
And being a guy with 3 vehicles over 300,000 at this time, your car looks to be in very, very good condition. Original paint?

Thanks to all for kind words...........I guess true credit should go to Lexus / Toyota engineers.
Safetybob, both oxygen sensor and knock sensor gave CEL. I have had Toyota replaced both. I purchased oxygen sensors (denso) from Amazon. If needed I can send the links.
Other details that missed out were replacing ignition coil and oil control valve. When I was changing spark plugs, noticed one ignition coil was burnt at the bottom (I believe I posted that pic in another thread). Other two weren't in good shape either. So, I replaced all three near the firewall, purchased at Amazon. Oil control valve also gave CEL and replaced myself.
Besides that, everything else is original including paint. I had been using Zaino wax for long time but since moving to NJ, its a pain to buy them (no shipping - have to pick). So, I ended up going with other waxes.
Among my cars, this is my favorite. I doubt my GX or LS would give me such trouble free miles. Just for records, last 25 months alone I drove 50k miles on ES. No matter how hard I try to maintain cars, if there is a design or manufacturing flaw, it will eventually show/fail. To best of my knowledge, this ES series doesn't' have one (I don't buy into engine gel and transmission issues - all requires is to follow factory maintenance schedule) failure point. I truly believe 1999 - 2001 ES are built like tanks.

Most of the rest (when talking about 250,000 miles) gets credited to conscientious ownership.
You're being humble about it, but anyone can mess up a good vehicle through neglect.
Looks to me as though you've done all the right stuff by this one.
Heck of a job.

I had a 97 ES300 with +280k mile in this crappy Canadian road (i.e. lots of salt during the winter).
It was pretty good to me as well.
At +280k mile, the rear main seal went, a few rust spots, and the exhaust pipe/muffler needs to be replaced.

Congratulations, satiger. Your engine bay speaks volumes about the level of your maintenance. I think of it like shoes on a man, you can tell a lot about a person's habits by looking under the hood.

Thanks guys for the kind words, it encourages me to take care of the car even more!.
Transmission, engine etc all original except for those items listed above. For transmission, I do rotate between drain and fill and flush every 30-40k miles with Toyota type-IV fluids. So far it seems to hold up and very responsive.
Besides the humming that I am hearing, when its cold outside, I hear some squeaking sound right around timing belt / alternator area. I am guessing its idler pulley.
I tried mechanics stethoscope to narrow down humming noise. Its more prevalent around alternator area. Since I don't have reference point (to compare sound level), hard to narrow it down. I will compare the sound against my other car and see if that it is of any help.
MrBooby - " I think of it like shoes on a man, you can tell a lot about a person's habits by looking under the hood." - Good point. My wife thinks I am crazy on spending time/effort in maintaining under the hood!!. I am going to show this post to her and see the reaction .
