Default Another CL success story

So before joining and before we had the '04 es330 in our possession, I knew the back windows did not roll down. After searching here, I found some advice on how possibly to get them working again. While holding the window down button down, slam the door closed 5 times (or something like that). Sounds weird, right? Fact is, the passenger rear window worked immediately and I was able to get the driver rear window to work but only after trying it several more times so now all windows operate normally but I do have a question:

did they basically get stuck from not being used? I plan on having my son roll them down and least every week or two weeks to keep the parts moving but I was just curious.

I really have to say thanks to those who post helpful information here because without it, I wouldn't be able to know what to do!

Could have been a stuck motor or an issue with the contacts

There is a TB? about it and the fact it worked means this has happened to many others. I am in the real estate business and I have sold a home that was purchased new 5 years earlier only to find out a few windows would need repair because they would not open as they should and the home inspector said it was from not being used so I am thinking this is along those same lines?

As long as its above 15C or so, the first thing I do is roll all four windows down on my ES330. I prefer the breeze as I drive along. Gotta love automatic up/down windows

The auto up/down for all 4 windows is a wonderful thing, however we don't get as much nice weather in Oklahoma to where we can have the windows down as much as we would like.

Same here in Dallas, this past week has been nice though. I tell people we get about 6 or 8 weeks of really nice weather a year here, the rest of the time it's too hot or too cold.

Pretty much October, November, part of December, and Feb-April is about it, unless it's raining, hailing or we're having a blizzard or tornado, ha ha!

Yeah, Oklahoma is always getting freak weather with the hail and tornados. I remember a couple years ago I saw a video of someone's pool in Oklahoma and it looked like it was boiling. They had softball sized hail! That's insane and I would imagine quite deadly.

I'm begining to wonder if my window problem is a rarity, you see my rear windows work fine , but if I try to raise them from the driver's window control panel ...nothing , I can lower them, but can't raise rear windows from behind the wheel ... Has anyone got any good news stories on this on??
