Dash ballooning over center vents (2ES)
As I'm a noob I'm apparently prohibited from posting photos... the issue is that the dash padding right above my center vents has ballooned a bit and the lip is no longer holding the pad in place... it's popped out of place and there is an ugly gap opened up.
In order to glue it, I would think the vents have to come out.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

It didn't work for me. Neither do emoticons (unless I enter the code manually). I just assumed both were part of the limited privileges thing.
EDIT: Ok I just tried again and it looks like it will work. Nothing happened when I tried before (not on this thread, something else).
Thanks

Probably going to have to pull the vents, apply adhesive and then apply dead weight overnight sand or shot bags would be optimal, taped and propped into place. I have been having a lot of luck with "shoe goo" lately. It's incredibly versatile stuff, and is marketed under a bunch of different names "amazing goop", etc. It's all the same product though. About the only negative I can think of is the tube has a tendency to cure up after a while once opened, it's cheap enough that it doesn't bother me though.

Thanks for the tips.
Do you by any chance know if the vents can be pried out from the front, or do I have to go inside the dash area and push them out?
It's a really small thing but it bugs me to look at it (given the rest of the interior is really good, save for some stretched stitching on the driver's seat).

Was the 30-post "limited privileges" rule for new forum members in place when you joined?

I'm pretty sure they just pull out. I have attached a pdf for stereo installation that includes vent removal. If you search for stereo installation threads there may be alternate methods with pictures. I know there are videos out there as well.
