What Kind Of Tranny Fluid?
Hi, I want to do a tranny fluid change. First, what kind of fluid should I get? Second, should I just use the drain plug or should I take the pan out and change the filter and everything? I just bought it and it has 103,000 miles, I dont know when it was last done. Is there anything different about a tranny fluid change on a Lexus? Done it before but only on American cars. Thanks

pull the tranny dipstick out. The fluid type should be printed on the dipstick.
As for replacement, I would have a shop do it for this time. At 103,000 there is no telling what you will find, but then again, if there is no sign of involvement, things may be just fine.
There is a thread under in the maint forum with a step by step of tranny fluid change, I think by CL member mike9.5.
good luck.

The easiest is just drain n fill.
Drain for 2hrs. and fill it with 2.97 qt of quaker state semi syn
you may substitute 1qt with lucuas trans fix
It work wonders on my
BTW I had a bad experience for taking the car for a trans flush and put in mobile one full syn
the transmmision is very smooth but yet almost slipping . I put in some ford trans mission to make it grap more and it did work a little better . I finally drain and fill two times n use semi syn instead and it is back to normal
I suspected that trans flush using those flush machine may do some harm to your trans if they left too much detergent stuff in your trans . Just my opinion.
