Default Car won't move back or forward

So today I took my brother's 99ES for a drive since it's been sitting for a week. I let the car warm up for about 15 minutes and I probably drove 2 miles doing around 40-45 mph when all of the sudden I felt as if someone like tried to pull me back. The car was just coming to a stop, making loud sounds, whenever giving a little gas it stared shaking so I just pulled over. It somewhat felt like I have all wheels seized up and I'm trying to force the car to move. However, when I pulled over and tried to move forward it wouldn't go, tried putting it in reverse wouldn't go. There is no check engine lights or anything. Car revs up to 5000-6000 rpms, nothing it won't move. I checked the transmission fluid, it looks fine. I believe my brother had it changed a year ago. I had the car towed back home ( 2 miles and I paid $125 lol my god I got ripped off) but I haven't took a look at it yet. Oh but when I tried pushing the car back when in Neutral it won't move, however it does move forward. I'm assuming it's transmission problem, I know it could be a lot of things that are causing this but hopefully someone here could help me out or experienced something similar.

Jack up both front wheels and try to rotate them with the car in neutral.

Yeah i jacked up the car front wheels spin however I needed to put some force into it, rear wheels spin freely. We were even able to push the car back in neutral but still whenever I put it in reverse or drive there is nothing, I don't even feel the tranny to engage. There is also this weird whistling/ grinding sound when engine is on, I don't think it's been there before.

Even when the car is cold it won't grab any gears?

When my torque converter went out my car would move until it warmed up. After doing a full rebuild on the transmission everything was in order other than the torque converter.

Sounds like you have a different problem though.

If you drop the transmission pan and check for metal shavings that should give you an idea.

Being that this is a '99 the U140E trans, I've read that the ECU can be bad that causes the clutch packs to be partially applied that leads to transmission failure.

Did the transmission fluid smell burnt? when the transmission fluid was changed, was the pan dropped and filter changed? (is it an oem filter or aftermarket)? someone posted that they did a ATF change with aftermarket filter that caused problems.

The 99 came with the a514 and u140 transmission. If you count the bolts on the transmission pan you can tell which one you have.

U140 - 18 bolts T-iv fluid
A514 - 17 bolts III fluid (I think)
