Default custom faceplate

Alright, I havn't posted for a few days because I have been doing major work to my car. I installed all of my diamond audio components and my new alpine h/u. I also made a custom face plate for the radio out of dark tinted plexyglass. I recesed the radio and took apart the factory h/u to create a false face. It came out really good, actually it came out better than I could have hoped for. I will post pics of the face plate and the false face tomorrow. I hope to see some posts reguarding the pics. Pos/neg comments are invited for the simple fact that if you don't like it, I don't give ah ****, but I hope at least some people will appriciate the time and effort I put into this install. One more thing, I also hooked up my 6 channel a/d/s/ amp and it sounds great.

If you think about it, who cares what anyone else thinks...as long as you are content with what you did...that's all that really matters. Right?

note the only difference between this and the stock apperence is that the faceplate is blacked out. I could have fixed this but didn't really care. The alpine is bolted to the original mounting brackets and is in there very securely. Also note that I created this faceplate because I don't want to receive a broken window because some punk thought I had a sound system. I did not make this plate because I am to lazy to remove the after market detachable face, because I always do. I had originaly planned on making this motorized but thought it would be a little to complex. I hope all enjoy and thanks for all that have posted or will post. More to come very soon (school is almost out ).

Default One more thing

One more thing, The custom faceplate does not vibrate or anything of the sort. Actually, I got lucky on how well it actually fit. It is pinched in its position and is a pain in the *** to get out, but that is what I wanted. Thanks for the comp skp. I'm going to try fiber glassing next (hopefully tommorow or wednesday), don't worry all you the es3 is perfect how it is people, I am going to try to fiber glass so it can all be removed. I don't know how succesful I will be seeing as how I've never done f/g before, but my cousin is in collision repair and works with bondo all the time so I will consider him a good help.

Default looks

looks nice, have you ever thought about getting rid of the texture on that install kit. You may be able to by adding some resin to it, sand and paint. I think it would match the fact. finish better. Just a thought though. Also, did you install yourself??

I don't like the rough look either. I might try sanding it down, and pour liquid glass on it. What ya think?

What do you got to loose man??? Also, I think it would help the look of the install dramaticaly. Just my two cents.
