Yesterday I picked up my car (06 lexus es330) from a local shop that does great work for the price. This morning as I was leaving to work I noticed that the rear bumber is off. It doesn't match the 062 color of the body and instead appears more white than the body. Is this common? What should I do?

Doesn't sound like they do great work to me. What can you do? Take it back and have them do it right or live with it.

Blending colors is always hard. Especially when you're trying to match a car that is nearly 10 years old, the rest of the body may have slightly faded or discolored ever so slightly. However, a good paint shop should be able to accomplish blending very easily. Sounds like they just painted the bumper and didn't blend the colors on the trunk or rear fenders to blend it into the rest of the car. Take it back and get it re done. Plain and simple

This is common. Painting plastic bumpers is different from painting metal panels as there is different additives involved. As a result, there will be a slight color difference between the bumper and the surrounding panels, especially with Pearl White. As mentioned previously, you can ask them to redo it and see if it comes out better or accept it and live with it.

I have the same color and it's likely your body shop isn't experienced in Pearl colors.
As far as I know, the Crystal white consists of 2 paints. The Super White is the base and there is a top Pearl Clear coat.
I know this cause i bought the touch up paint at the dealer and they sold me 3 bottles, super white, pearl clear, and the silverish color for the lower half.
I was told the white goes on first, then the pearl clear on top.
I am guessing that your body shop failed to apply pearl to the clear or not enough.

To add to what's mentioned above,
Pearl white 062 is a triple coat paint. The base is white, then the pearl, then the clear coat.
Often aftermarket body shops will cut corners and blend the pearl into the white so the base is applied in one stage instead of two, but it will never match the factory.
Its common to only paint the plastic bumpers and not blend the rest of the body panels. Usually its only adjacent panels (like a door to a fender) that gets blended. Furthermore, they have to add a flex additive to the paint so it will adhere to plastic better. Even from the factory, applying the same paint to both plastic and metal won't get them to match 100% perfectly.
Take it back and have them fix it as close as possible. Post up some pics if you can.
