How many miles? You might want to change the water pump while it is accessible.

Reviving an old thread here;

I recently changed the timing belt on my '05 and it developed the same noise as the posted videos above.

I don't mind living with the noise as long as it won't end in anything catastrophic.

Have any of you guys just decided to live with the t-belt noise with no issues?

So is everyone just skipping over post #19 like it doesn’t exist? There is a solution in there to clean the camshaft sprockets and idler pulleys from any previous belt residue.

Problem I found in stubborn cases is to get all the old material off I also removed the anti corrosion coating. Oven cleaner will remove most of the belt gunk but also seems to damage the coating if you leave it on long enough to dissolve the rubber.

I very well read post #19 and Lex2Ks post #3 regarding a softer timing belt to alleviate the noise.

As i've said in my previous post, I don't mind living with the noise as long as it won't cause premature failure.

My question is.. Anyone decide to just live with the t-belt noise with no issues?

Do I really want to pull the t-belt back out and clean pulleys for a harmless noise? Hell no.

Noise won't cause any problems and it might even go away eventually as the belt wears.

I'll be the guinea pig and live with the noise... For science..

Put about 1,300 miles on it so far. Noise still there but running 100%.

Thanks all.

Default Mine sounded like yours.

Wow yours sounds like mine did when the water pump bearing failed both times in less that two years with Duralast from AutoZone.
