96 es. Misfire help
I have a 96 es with 116k. A while back i started getting p0300, 302, 304, 306 and one other i think is 172. I was originally told it was a bad cat which at the time made sense (sulphur, fuel smell, back fires etc) i took it to several mechanics and had a few different responses. The last guys told me its definitely not the cat. And it could be fuel related. Could it be the injectors? Shop told me cylinder 6 has 255 misfires? While the rest only had 10? So could it be cyljnder 6 or 5(?) Also i think i may have caused it. I bought the car and ran nothing but premium for a few months and then the light came on? May or may nt be related. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Fpr
Check your fuel pressure regulator for a leak
When it fails, it will throw those readings.
Do you smell gas in the engine compartment? Either way, take close look at the FPR, it will look dirty

Also i will check my injectors. I checked the resistance on the front 3 (cyl 2,4,6) and got 16 ohms across(rated for 14 so not unusual). But i have a feeling if i have a bad injector its gonna be cylinder 5. Which means ill have to take the manifold off and ill change the plugs on the back as well since theyve never been changed

I recently had a sporatic misfires when cold and ton of smoke. No CEL yet. Kinda do not want to wait for it because I know I am spewing unburnt fuel into the cat. Not to mention wasting fuel.
I found my Bank 1 O2S harness melted and damaged the connector. Went to Pick a Part and pulled a good harness, swapped the harness, Ohm tested the O2S, tested voltage and ground. All Good.
She started right up without smoking and idled steady.
No more misfires taking off and at speed on the freeway.
So if you worked on the B1S1 O2S, make sure it is secure and no where near the exhaust manifold.

So been a while. I had all the injectors changed, new wires for the plugs, new plugs, new intake gasket, and a new cat. Still have the same F@$KING PROBLEM. Would a car bomb fix the problem because this is driving me insane. The only thing I think I have left is the FPR.

Before you buy the part, test the FPR. But it sure sounds like it is the culprit. Post a pic of it.
Also, when you got the new wires, you did insure the wires were in snug and felt of heard a "click", right? The backs are a real PITA.

Good news
Won't know til I start driving it. Battery is dead a door nail from sitting so I jumped it yesterday and let it idle for 20-30 minutes and drove it around my apartment complex and seemed to be running fine. Won't know for sure until the computer runs a diagnosis I'm guessing but I'm cautiously optimistic. Thanks for your advice!
