I usually have the lights set to auto, but I did turn it to the ON position to check the rear lights, and they all seem to be working? The wiring harness in the trunk looks in good shape. Is the high tail light constant with the lights in the ON position, or does the brake need to be applied for it to light up? Thx, T
If the warning light comes ON when headlights are turned ON, then it is tail light issue and not brake light issue. It appears that is true in your case. Then the high mounted brake light is not the issue. As shown in your manual (pg 230), it is either bulb 7 or 8
These are a couple Pics with lights in the ON position. The sun was starting to come up when I took these, so I hope they are visable enough to make it out. T
Thx again guys for all the help with this. T
The rear brake light will only light up when the brake pedal is depressed.
Take a picture of the rear end with the lights on and post it here. There are some lights you may not know exist.
My '02 had the light out indicator and it was the high brake light. Seems once you hit the brake and it doesn't light up, it sets it as bad from that point on whether you are hitting the brake or not.
