does anyone know if it's illegal to have any other color besides amber for front turn signals in california? i want to put some bright white bulbs in since my corners are now clear. also, do LEDs fit in the turn signal? thanx guys

I put hiperwhite in my clear corners and they aren't bright like the headlights....they don't look much different than plain clear bulbs in the corner light. when they blink they match perfect. The corner lights themselves make the light look green if anything. i hate them. If anyone knows how to keep the bulb staying the same as brightness part of the blink let me know.

as for what is legal or not, call your local and state police. If need be call the RMV or DMV in your state.
They may even have it on the web. If anything other than red/white/amber is acceptable get a copy, keep it in the car. This way you have back up if a cop gives you any grief.
PS, I wouldn't count on blue as an option.

The police dept will tell you that anything besides ORANGE in your parking lights is illegal. All lighting must be approved by the USDOT. Orange is the only color allowed by the USDOT in turn signals and parking lights. This is true in all 50 states. Im not saying that you will get pulled over for such a minor thing. I have had super white turn signals for years and have never gotten pulled for it.
But, as for being illegal, anything besides orange is illegal.

So long as you don't ride through **** retentive police just out for ticket money. (read small town USA)
I would expect them to not pull you over so long as they're not blinding anybody. You would think most police are overjoyed you use a blinker to begin with! Besides... Sometimes for them it's more hassle than it's worth to pull someone over!
