Default 1997 ES300 Buying Advice

Hey y'all. I am brand spanking new to the Club Lexus forums and I am looking to possibly buy my first ever car, a 1997 Lexus ES300.
I really find 90's Lexus extremely aesthetically pleasing and plus being renowned for it's legendary reliably and comfort. I want just that, but I could use y'all advice on what you guys think.

I been looking at a 1997 ES300 online with approximately 180,000 miles that has been according to the owner, maintained by an auto mechanic since the owner bought it, possibly 2nd or 3rd owner by now. The body looks decent, just scrapes on the rear bumper and interior looks decent as well with a single slight rip on the driver's seat. Also comes with the the first aid kit and is being listed for $2,000.

Is $2,000 for a '97 ES300 a good price? Is 180,000 miles a major concern? Should I be expecting any major repairs and replacing many parts soon? Any advice would be great, as well as answering the poll would be superb, too.

Edit: The ES was sold before I got to it.

If it's been well-maintained, a 1MZ-FE should go for a real long time. Biggest issue is oil sludge which you'd check by taking off the valve cover. By now, the car is due for a new set of valve cover gaskets, a new timing belt/water pump/tensioner, most likely the engine/tranny mounts are shot, and expect some leaks here and there. Doing it yourself, you'd be looking at several hundred in parts. Taking it to a dealer or a mechanic, you'll be doubling the price of the car real quick.
If it was a reputable mechanic, there should be a log of repairs and maintenance done on the vehicle, I think that would help us see if the car is worth it.

If you're up for it, either DIY or forking over the cash-moola, you'll have an amazing ride that will treat you well.

Also, the first aid kit is a nice touch but the contents are probably well-aged by now haha.

Timing belt is due every 90K. So it'll be due again. Approx $1000 job at a dealership or $250 for parts and you can DIY.

The radio LCD's tend to go out on the early 3ES. Good for you sticking with 97-98 with the more reliable transmission than 99-01.

$2000 is tops if its in really good shape. Maybe offer $1500 for it and save the $500 for maintenance.
