Fuel gauge always shows full
Just recently the fuel gauge on my '90 ES250 stopped dropping after I filled up. Thinking it might be a fuse I checked the owners manual and found a fuse that listed "gauges". Since everything else is working correctly I'm assuming it's not that. Is a full fuel gauge reading sign of an open or grounded circuit? I'm used to the gauge showing empty when the circuit is open on other cars. Thinking the float may be hanging up I've driven over some bumpy roads hoping to shake it loose, no luck. Anything else it might be? Worst case I can live with a broken fuel gauge and just re-set the trip meter when I fill up but it is a Lexus and I'd like it to work.
