2000 ES300 battery/alt/cables??
Hi! Having a very frustrating time with my 2000 ES300. Started when battery died. AAA said that it was because I didn't drive enough each day so it couldn't charge properly, replaced battery and was better for awhile but still had weird shorts when driving, rough transition when accelerating, catching, dashboard lights flickering. So:
Replaced Crankshaft Position Sensor. things were MUCH better but still noticed slight flickering on the dash. Two days later went to Autozone, told me the battery was good but the ALT was only putting out 12v.
Replaced Alternator. Then the dash lights were MUCH worse! Dash flashing, battery light coming on.
Tightened and cleaned terminals, replaced the positive clamp. Still problems.
Took old ALT to Autozone and it tested fine so ALT was never the problem but now I have a new one.
Car responds to battery fiddling for a bit then goes back to dash lights flickering and cutting out. Radio cuts out briefly at time when this is happening too.
Help!
