Default Transmission install part 2

So the new tranny is in but we are having trouble putting the back end into place, it seems to be stuck on something and it just won't go in flush. We think it is the middle gear but we have already lined up the pin and 2 metal brackets on the bottom end. Any suggestions? Diagrams? Anything. Thank you!

um, I'm lost for words. It seems like you've replaced the transmission by removing the internals and slotting new parts in place.

Usually the entire transmission it removed, bell housing and all, then replaced as one entire unit. That housing should never be loosened off, unless it's sitting on a work bench and being rebuilt. I have no idea what the effect of loosening that housing is, but I would remove the entire unit, bellhousing and all, then carefully re-install everything and install it correctly.

But we didn't have the right materials to take it out as a whole. Do you know anywhere I could call to find out how to get it back in place?

I'm sorry mate, I'm in New Zealand I don't know what would be local to you. All I can say is that I wouldn't rush to tell people that you tried this, the answer will generally be 'you've ruined that gearbox', followed by some unbelief, and gut laughing.

the only solution I can think of, is, pull it all out. but it on a work bench. Remove the bell housing / gearbox casing. get the manual printed out that i've attached, and rebuild the gearbox according to it's instructions.

To remove the gearbox, as a empty casing isn't something that requires a hoist/engine crane. It's only 20-30 kg tops. Getting it back in can be done with car jacks, and blocks of wood if you're desperate.

What tool(s) don't you have that you need ? maybe we can help you work around it if we know.
