2005 ES330 won't turn over, still able to use AC, radio, etc.
Having trouble getting my car to start. When I go to turn the key over there is no clicking or "ignition-like" sounds, just a very very faint hum/buzz sound. All of the electronics on the inside of the car work (AC, radio, etc.). I even jumped the car just to make sure (battery is just over a year old). I read that it could be due to the steering wheel being locked but that isn't the case either.
At this point it seems like an ignition issue but I just wanted to see if there were any other possible remedies I could try before I pay to have my car towed/repaired. Thanks.

A loose battery cable connection at the battery post?
Grab the battery cables at the battery post connections and see if you can't turn them by hand. You should not be able to.

If the battery is good, the likely cause is a bad starter or corrosion on the wires from the battery to the starter or ground wire from the battery. It takes a lot of electricity to turn the started. See this thread. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...999-es300.html

No clicking might be a bad starter. Tap the starter a few times with any tool on hand (hammer, lug wrench, etc). If it starts afterwards, that's probably the problem. Autozone can test it for free for you as well if you can manage to remove it.

No clicking no noise
Have located and fixed the problem! It was the starter. Fairly easy fix. Right under the air filter box. All you need is a 10 mm, 12mm, and 14mm and your ready. Thanks for the help with diagnoses!

Alternative issues besides starter problem
Three solutions come to mind as I had the same issue:
Security lockout - Try locking and unlocking the doors. It should start.
Reset - There is a button next to the left of the Drive shift. Open it, then push the reset. It should start.
Alternator - If the battery is good or you are going through batteries quickly, it could be the alternator.
I've had all three problems. I found the starter has lasted the life of the car so far, but the alternator gave out at 178K.
Hope this helps.
