Does my car have a remote starter?? How to make it work.
So I bought my 2000 Millennium Lexus yesterday. I was told it had a remote starter, and that there is a kill switch. But...the seller said he never used it and doesn't know where the switch is.
I push on the remote and the lights blink, but thats it. There is a sticker in the manual saying "This car is equipped with a remote starter".
Any ideas how to see if there actually is one? I suspect maybe its just an alarm.
Here's a pic of the remote,
Cheers

Thanks...but I can't find any info on this model...it is 17 years old after all,
I have tried pushing various combinations and nothing. It acts like an alarm I push it once, it blinks, I push it again, it blinks twice

Admittedly I'm not too familiar (only had one car with an aftermarket Scytek alarm), but from what I've seen remote engine start is tied to generic function buttons or a dedicated engine start button. I'm guessing if you have only two buttons, it's lock and unlock?
I'd call Viper and get them to give up the manual if it's that old. I had a helluva time finding the right one for my 15-year-old Scytek.

I just got my 1995 es300 (for free) and it also came with the same remote! I had no idea it had remote start...I thought it was an aftermarket keyless remote only. The the button the left locks AND unlocks the doors for my car. the other button doesn't do anything as far as I know.
I also found out the other day there is a lock/unlock button on the actual key...which doesn't work for me.
